Extent of 30.06 sign's reach

I don't know the correct answer, but there seems to be two basic places where the sign can be posted.

2. At the entrance to a parking lot. I guess this covers the parking lot for non-employees now. I don't know if this covers the building or not. What if it is a place where the building is not posted and my wife drives me and drops me off? Parking lots seem really fuzzy to me. Also, I think a 30.06 sign is meaningless to someone without a CHL carrying in their vehicle under the MPA.

The 30.06 has no meaning to anyone who is carrying in their car. If the parking lot is posted with a valid 30.06 then a CHL holder cannot exit their car with their gun. The non-CHL holder cannot leave their car with their gun regardless of whether the parking lot is posted. Whether or not a person is an employee of the business has no bearing on this. If the person is an employee and their employer has a policy prohibiting firearms on the property, then they can be fired if they leave the car with their gun. They can leave their gun in the car even if their employer has a policy against firearms.

#2 Other signs, like a no smoking sign, usually apply to the entire location unless they say otherwise.

I see lots of no smoking signs on doors. Never saw them used to ban smoking in the parking lot though.
