Most of you don't know, but my younger brother died from esophageal cancer early this year here at my home. I moved him into my home in January for in-home hospice care and he passed away in May. Unfortunately, between the cost of moving him from West Virginia and paying for his medical care, I kind of depleted my savings account. Not that I have any regrets -- I gave him the best "last months" any brother can ask for. This summer, I thought I could rebuild my nest egg, but it's been challenging enough making ends meet.
That's where this post comes in: I've decided to sell my Steyr AUG A3 setup. This wasn't an easy decision, I love that bullpup, but it's wiser for me to find new homes for a few of my safe queens so that I can rebuild my savings. So, I am posting this ad here for a week BEFORE I post it on TexasGunTrader. I figure that gives all my TexasCHLForum friends a fair shot at this before the rest of Texas sees it.
I'm not looking for trades or negotiations on the price. This rifle has only had about 100 rounds through it (no, not "100 give or take a few thousand") and its been treated well. The price includes the time, labor, and cussing that came with installing the Raptor cocking lever and Trigger Tamers for both hammer packs.
Here's the package:
- Steyr AUG A3 (only one of 1860 made in the US. Steyr USA has stopped making them, but they service them 100%)
- NATO Stock/Hammer Pack (Allows you to use AR-15/M-4 mags)
- Steyr Factory Case, Cleaning Kit, and Sling
- 3 Additional 30 Round Mags (total of 5)
- 2 Additional 42 Round Mags
- 2 New Black PMags for the NATO Stock
- Trigger Tamers installed on both hammer packs (drops pull to 6lbs)
- Manticore Arms Raptor charging handle
- Bushnell Holosight (This is actually an EOTech 512, licensed to Bushnell). Uses 2 AA batteries.
- I'll respond to PMs as quickly as I can. For the record, I don't respond to PMs while I sleep.
- No, just because the price is $3100 does not mean I'll settle for $3000. I've looked long and hard at the rifle availability, condition, features, and what I paid for everything in terms of cash and time. My price is very fair.
- I sell to Texas CHL holders only. I know it's a rifle. I know you don't need one to buy a rifle. This is just my personal rule. We will also do a simple bill of sale. That benefits us both.
- I live and work in the North Austin area. No, I will not meet you in Waco, College Station, or Fredericksburg.
- No, not willing to sell part of the package. I know you like that Bushnell Holosight, but if you want to just buy it alone, it will also cost $3100 and will come with a free Steyr AUG A3
- I'm still looking for the owners manual for the Steyr. In the meantime, you can find the complete manual here: http://www.steyrarms.com/fileadmin/user ... Manual.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
- In case you don't know, the AUGs weren't manufactured with iron sights. Steyr does sell a matching sight/scope here: http://www.pjs-steyraug.com/A3SCOPE.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You can see the entire package here (cleaning kit and factory sling not shown, but included):

This is an example of a Steyr AUG A3 and an M4. Both barrels are 16" long, but the Steyr is easily 5" shorter in overall length
