FOUND: Revolver--Ruger GP100 or Security Six
Needing a decent revolver to practice with and take proficiency portion of CHL instructor course. Don't even know what to look for in this really, as never been into revolvers...so seeing what anyone might have available.

Re: WTB: Revolver
You need a Ruger GP100. Others may have their favorites, but IMO, the GP100 is the most well balanced, all around reliable revolver out there. Mine has made it to more instructor schools than I have, and no one has ever failed to qualify with it, first time out.

Soooo you offering to sell?Keith B wrote:While mine is a Ruger Security-Six, the predecessor to the GP100, they are EXCELLENT guns. Solidly built and super reliable. The 4" is probably the most comfortable stock revolver I have ever shot, both with .38 standard and .357 mag hot loads.

Re: WTB: Revolver
From the sugegstions made and what I have read in review, I think I am more interested in a Ruger GP 100 or Security Six---4" barrel.
These aren't anything I am wanting to carry, but to be proficient enough to pass the instructor CHL exam.

Re: WTB: Revolver
Well, I won't say it's not for sale at any price, but can tell you that you can find one cheaper than what I would have to get for mine.wgoforth wrote:Soooo you offering to sell?Keith B wrote:While mine is a Ruger Security-Six, the predecessor to the GP100, they are EXCELLENT guns.
