Obama launches "Attack Watch" website to track dissenters

Post by fickman »

Sadly, he's not even looking for tips on potential domestic terrorism or other crimes. . . he's looking for reports of people who speak out against him, disagree with him, or question him. Based on these criteria, somebody should report general categories such as "Economics", "History", "Reality", and "Facts".

Reports:
ABC News

National Review Online

Mein Führer's actual web page:
http://www.attackwatch.com/

. . . if you don't see an ominous fascist bent to this site, it still reeks of immaturity and shows him to be even more thin-skinned than we even imagined.

Was the Hitler comparison really necessary? I see what he is doing here and its does not seem sinister. Please leave the hyperbole at home.

Man... the koolaid levels in Obama's advisor group have got to be through the roof on this one, and that's sorta semi-sinister. Please note that this is not an attack on the President.

I visited the website. I can say that I am not a fan of Obama's and look forward to his replacement being sworn in. But I must say that this website is really no big deal. It's just a campaign tool for him to develop talking points on the trail.

If any of you wish to turn me in for any of my comments below, feel free........... :biggrinjester:

Obama is dimantleing the US economy,
Obama lied about me being able to keep my medical insurance if I wanted to.
Obama is bad for Isreal
Obama lied when he promised transparency
Obama pushed for and got the first racially based tax since the civil rights movement (tanning salon tax)
Obama was fully aware of what BATFE was doing with fast and furious
Obama is a socialist
Obama may not be a muslim, but he is a radical muslim sympathizer
Obama continues to associate himself with left wing radicals
Obama won't audit the fed because they are printing money at his request, for political reasons
Obama is in bed with the Unions
Cronyism is alive and well in the Obama Whitehouse
Obama is weak on foriegn policy and indecisive on virtually everything that wasn't spelled out to him what to do by Saul Alinsky's book "rules for radicals"

All kidding aside, there is nothing sinister going on with that site. It's a campaign tool and nothing more.

Bleeped out language in it, but hilarious.

They stopped the view count at 306 on that video. Guess they don't want to get reported.

Calm down and relax. . . it was tongue-in-cheek hyperbole. Spying on your neighbors, authors, journalists, and reporting them to the government is a fascist concept. I know this is a campaign strategy, but he has to understand that he IS the government right now, not just a candidate. It was a fair shot. He didn't call it "fact check" or "misleading statement watch". . . he called it "ATTACK watch". That sounds pretty polarizing and vitriolic to me.

I don't think he's going to send secret police to anybody's house. . . they're just going to send form letters with manipulated statistics to the responders. They might launch a PR campaign targeting sources that consistently challenge the president, and I wouldn't put it past them to limit some media's access to BHO's campaign if the media outlet is repeatedly reported through the site.

There is a definitely a major difference in the public perception of a "what is everybody saying about us" website when it's run by an underdog outsider vs. when it's run by the incumbent President of the United States.

I'm among those who see it as more immature, ridiculous, and desperate.

The free publicity he's getting from the right is probably noteworthy, but I don't think this is going to change one voter's mind. . . it will simply equip his devotees to sing in unison.

1. Mine was a reference to fascism in general, I never mentioned Hitler.
2. The site came first. My jab at it came second. All I said in my post was that it was a fair shot. . . if the government (BHO can't take that hat off for his candidacy) is asking us to be their eyes and ears and report detractors ("ATTACKS" as they call them), then a reference to fascism is certainly fair game.

I notice that the website is paid for by "Obama for America." That's almost hilarious. He hasn't been for America since he became an acolyte of Saul Alinsky's.
