Not sure how it's enforceable as it's on city streets. Not sure if the sign meets the legal definition, will try to take a pic on the way out.

We all have heard from TAM regarding the GVPD Chief. I guess they are really going to do or at least try this. I wonder if the organizers really know that they cannot do this or if they've had input from the PD?

I went to Allen Octoberfest last year and they were not posted. The place did have police all around and the main square are was sort of roped off, but that was to keep folks from walking out of there with their beers. I carried away and had some good food.

I'm sure they, as well as the police chief really believe it's enforceable. There are many out there that hold that opinion, including the attorneys at DPS. It just depends on who they asked.

Didn't take a pic but I gave it a decent review on the way out, it appears to be a correct sign. Cops were all over, I wasn't about to ask/debate it with any of them, but I thought about sending the wife. :biggrinjester:

Does not surprise me. :banghead:

No metal detectors and "Sign? What Sign?" - if I was to go I would carry.
Of course some of you would be aghast on that statement. But, reality is you would have to pay me to go to places like that, posted or not. :smilelol5:

It would be an interesting discussion with Mayor Tate about why he thinks his City is above Texas law. Of course, we could have the same discussion with Mayor Van Duyen about why the Irving Convention center has a 30.06 sign, too. Where is Attorney General Abbot when you need him?

I'm taking the wife and kids tomorrow. We live within walking distance but it would be a hike to have to go back home. I'm at a loss to see how they think they can post when the state fair can't.
Have to take the family either way so I guess I'll have to suck it up and deal.

I think the state fair would say that they can, but they choose not to. I believe they did post it one year and backed down after the number of complaints they received.
