Ammo prices are rising.

Post by Beiruty »

I just stooped by cheaperthandirt and Cabelas. At first, I noticed that Cheapest Russian Ammo and all other ammo for handgun or rifle are up at least some 20%.
Back at Cabelas, I wanted some .223 Ammo, I ended up finding 500 rds of steel cased hurter's (Russian similar to TULA) of .223 55gr HP for $125 stored in a FREE plastic storage box. Just to compare, 500 rds of the silver bear .223 62gr HPBT are at sale for $137 at CTD. Steel cased shoots just fine in Americanized AK-like SIG556. However, my SIG prefers heavier bullets.

I wanted to squeeze Cabelas a bit more and asked for $20 coupon being honored. At the service counter, and with no questioned asked and with not even showing the coupon the discount was applied as long as my purchase is over $150.

I had to go back and grab some $25 worth of goods. I grabbed a Hoppe's new VIPER bore snake ($19.99) in.223 and a big spray can of Rem Oil ($7.99).

My Total out of door, tax included was $143 and some change.

Next is to grab some 400rd of Federal (brass) 9mm. Best place to purchase is Wally world. :woohoo

Ammo has been my best performing investment class over the past 3 or 4 years.
When in doubt
Vote them out!

And unlike gold, you can hunt with it or protect yourself with it... unless you had a diamond-encrusted slingshot to match your expensive projectile. Also, in a barter economy, it's easier to divide ammunition than gold.

...and unlike gold, more folks'll be needin' it...every round of any caliber and up to 50 years old will be good for bread, beans, gas, tires, whatever you need...better'n tryin' to whittle off $5 off yer Krugs!!!

Is there anything that is not increasing in price.

Crude oil closed at <$80/barrel today. Let's see how fast the price at the pump goes down.
