Dinner with Obama Contest

Post by Thomas »

There is a contest for four lucky(?) people to have dinner with President Obama, all expenses paid (by campaign, not the U.S. citizens). They are advertising the method where you make a campaign contribution to enter. However if you read the official rules, there is a link to the free entry page. It is:
http://www.barackobama.com/page/dinner- ... ept-signup

After entering, you will be re-directed to a donation page, you can just close that as you've already been entered.

If I win, I'm going to give him a piece of my mind ;-)

Fine Print: You may have to pass a background check.

EDIT: Just for the record: I did not vote for Obama, nor will I in the future.

He'd have to PAY ME to be in his presence!
I wouldn't accept even if he sent AF1 to pick me up!

You won't be able to get me to smile in any pictures. I may not enjoy his company, but it will be worth it to me to have the chance to talk to him face-to-face.

Can anyone even tell the difference any more?

True, and I suppose if one wanted to be technical, the U.S. citizens are paying for his transportation, Secret Service protection, and possibly background checks.

EDIT: But regardless, this event is happening. If they get someone who doesn't make it worthwhile (no good publicity, or negative publicity), they might reconsider doing this again in the future.

Whether I like him or not it would be a great honor to have dinner with the President of the United States, I'm registered Republican but I signed up anyways.

Agreed. I may not like him, but I'll respect the President of the United States. I wouldn't protest or throw a plate of food in his face for example.

Under normal circumstances yes. I just don't want my friends seeing me with that guy.

I don't want to be on his mailing list or email list...

Why would I want to have dinner with someone who spoils my appetite?
