TSA (Style) Inspections coming to a Stadium near you!

Post by sjfcontrol »

Here's what happens when you attempt to TSA-Screen for a pro-football game...

The security protocol was a directive from the National Football League. It was in response to an incident that occurred at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., last month, where a South Carolina man was arrested after allegedly using an illegal Taser during a fight with other fans during the Dallas Cowboys-New York Jets game.

Although we usually think about jihadists doing terroristic acts against NYC and DC,
our Homeland Security people found a BG whose computer contained the maps of the stadiums
in Indianapolis, Indiana and St. Louis, Missouri.

If he and his criminal friends had decided to attack one or both of those stadiums, it would be a very bad
wakeup call to the US heartland that terrorists won't always attack East Coast cities.

SIA

And TSA screening will solve this problem?
The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the atmosphere. -Thomas Jefferson

I bet they wouldnt' attack trying to sneak through security. Small private plane full of fuel/explosive would do a number on a open stadium.

I don't see any indication of TSA involvement, where did you get that?

For the first time, fans entering the stadium went through an enhanced security screening similar to a TSA hand-held wand inspection at an airport.
So its close. I've got the ATT centers seating chart in PDF on my computer, but thats just so I get good Spurs seats. Don't think I'll need that PDF this year.

Yeah, OK -- it was TSA-style screening. You think if (when) this becomes common-place that TSA won't take it over? Probably with the excuse that they're doing it to prevent private organizations from abusing the public? (After all, that's a function reserved for the TSA. ) :tip hat:

I've fixed the topic title.

Yes, I think TSA won't take it over, and this sounds more like the screenings that took place before TSA existed.

I don't go to pro games anymore. When enough people get tired of a proctological exam just to watch a football game, the NFL may decide to change course.

You'd think they'd get tired of the prices, first. :biggrinjester:

Don't bet on them not taking it over at some point. The TSA has recently assumed petrochemical pipeline security. :banghead:

I have a strict policy of not going places where I am likely to be assaulted--just part of my personal saftey protocol. That means I don't go places where they reserve the right to put their fingers all over my or my children's bodies. That includes airports and football stadiums. Just personal saftey rules here.

Why would anyone stand in line 45 minutes, especially past the start of the game?

As long as people tolerate this treatment it will continue, and even get worse.

Oh well, I suppose there will always be enough sheeple to fill the stadiums.
God Bless America, and please hurry.

Yup. I wouldn't be surprised to see the new luxury seats being offered with "Pre-screened Security" (for a little extra fee, of course ;-) )
