Dress slacks and sport coat

I wear dress slacks and a sport coat, and the occasional suit, during the week and am trying to figure out what my holster options are.

Not interested in a shoulder rig as the coat comes off at times during the day. Weekends are not an issue, obviously, as the wardrobe is adaptable then.

Anyone who has to dress like this have any suggestions?

And I guess you will want to know that I intend to carry a Glock 26.

I know, I know... I could get a smaller pistol for concealed carry with a suit... But I could also get a bigger one... So I will take the middle ground with the 26.

I can carry an M&P 9C IWB with jeans and a tee tucked no problem and I am only 5'4". My Hubby is 5' 10" and can tuck with a shirt and slacks with the same gun. Should not be a problem with a decent IWB holster - you might have to blouse the shirt a bit, just to avoid the saran wrap effect, but it really is not as obvious as it will feel at first.

My mind keeps telling me that the gun will be HUGE and unconcealable, although I know there is a solution out there somewhere.

I was thinking I was going to have to go with something like a SmartCarry or 3 Speed Holster, but was a little concerned about the pooch that might produce even though most of my dress slacks are pleated.

I carry this way to church a lot now and some other times. Sometimes I use my MTAC Minotaur and sometimes I just go with the Blackhawk Serpa. I've been carrying a Glock 27 for years, but lately, since my wife got me a Glock 21SF for our anniversary, I've been carrying that around with a Blackhawk Serpa and no one seems the wiser.

My Crossbreed Supertuck works fine concealing full size guns. My Comp-Tac Minotaur also works just as well. They are both viable choices.

If I can wear dress slacks, shirt, & tie while concealing a full-size 1911, your G26 should be a piece of cake.

its been made clear but I carry full size m&p dress slacks and a tie everyday in a comp tac (I didn't like the metal ir the big crosses of the crossbreed, they prob have other ioptions texas company got my biz) I am sure you have read this but a good belt goes a long way with dress slacks you can get away with an ok belt with a good pair of jeans but not dress slacks imo

The MTAC Minotaur could be an option.

I like the Blackhawk Serpa. But it is an OWB holster and won't work for my needs. Good for the range though.

I am sure you have read this but a good belt goes a long way with dress slacks you can get away with an ok belt with a good pair of jeans but not dress slacks imo

That is on my list as well. Have just about decided on one from thebeltman.net at this point.

Velcro clips from Comp-Tac or Crossbreed, you'd need Velcro sewn into the underside of the belt (I use CompTac V-vlips and belt with Velcro because my other holsters use Comp-Tac clips, but Crossbreed Keith suggested is great.)

You should look into a "system" from Crossbreed using Velcro if you want maximum concealment. You need a belt with Velcro sewn in to use that system ... and it works great IMHO, it's what I use on Sundays for Church.

CompTacs V-clips are so well, they are hard to remove from the belt's Velcro, I have no "traveling/migration/slippage". I'm sure Crossbreeds's are great too.

I prefer to conceal my clips too ... Velcro and V-clips under the belt

I don't like Clips showing on a belt ...

As already mentioned, a good tuckable IWB (Comp-Tac MTAC, Crossbreed Supertuck, Galco King Tuk and the like) which spreads the weight of the gun over a large area of the belt is just the ticket. Tuck your shirt around it and blouse the shirt a bit and you are good to go. DA mentions above that I have carried the M&P9C, but I also occasionally carry the M&P 9 full size as well this way. If you have the same gun in two sizes like I do, it is a good idea to buy a holster that'll fit both (or heat the Kydex shell and reform for the larger gun like I ended up doing).

For belts, Beltman comes highly recommended. I also have Comp-Tac and AG Gunleather belts that are quite nice as well. The Comp-Tac is cut on a contour rather than straight, which I kinda like. The AG is just a very well made belt. FWIW, I recommend a square buckle on a leather belt (versus a rounded one) so that it will not mar the edges as quickly.

I like my suitwear to fit in a modern, tailored, fashion, so tucking IWB does not work for me either. I opt for ankle, or thunder wear type concealment.

I am liking the sound of that as well. I really wasn't looking forward to having the belt clips showing, but with the v-clips, I don't have to worry about that as much.

Looks like you just need to make sure of your placement when you strap everything on because the v-clips won't slide on the belt the way the standard belt clips will.
