Need Help, Question?

Post by infoman »

I just would like to know about these states:
Illinois
Maine
Minnesota
New Hampshire
Oregon
Vermont
West Virginia
Wisconsin

I'm pretty sure that none of the above recognize the Texas CHL license, but do we recognize anyone traveling from those states that carry a gun permit from any of those states??

Please help.

Wisconsin might be changing soon! Just got carry, so we might have reciprocity with them sometime soon. :thumbs2:

Vermont allows carry without a permit of any kind
Vermont does not issue permits
Expect harassment from LEO if you carry

Wrong on harassment. Open carry is not a problem unless you decide to traipse around in a larger town and wander around in the stores and other businesses. Any videos you have seen from Open Carry proponents are ones where the individual was trolling for a police officer to question them. I have seen these tactics and they parade up and down the street in front of the LEO's or others looking to get hassled about open carrying in order to get it on video. Reminds me of the squirrels that run around on top of my fence taunting my dogs to bark at them.

...been on many forums and never heard of a private citizen having a problem in Vermont...except for those sidewalk trolls Keith B mentions...they're an embarrassment to real people...

Just to add a perspective from an OC state. Here in VA we see people open carry on a fairly regular basis. Unless you are being a jerk or are particularly unlucky most cops and people leave you alone. In fact I have determined that most people are quite unobservant and don't notice a thing. I often notice open carriers, but that is because I am being watchful. Last month I was out with my quite liberal anti-gun MIL and we walked right past an OC-er I saw he had a sweet 1911--did not get too close obviously to determine make/model. But it sure looked pretty. My MIL walked right past and did not notice a thing. So just because you feel like everyone is watching you--really they are just worried about getting to the eagle exhibit with their three grandchildren in one piece.
