The article said the U.K. had planned 100 guerrilla cells, each one operating a 15 mile radius.

Some foreign power ever invaded the United States, I'd figure most counties could field at least 100 cells since the average county population is 100,000. Given there are 3,077 US Counties, that is a far more formidable picture.

What a sad and rapid descent from Churchill to the Nanny state. Now the Brits can't even defend themselves against thugs and rioters, much less an invading army.

Check out Aug. 17, 1942 issue of Life magazine, featuring a cover story of "Ace Guerrilla" Bert "Yank" Levy.
He taught both Brits and U.S. citizen soldiers. [FYI - Levy (rhymes with Chevy) was born in Canada.]

Though the source of this quote has fallen into dispute, Yamamoto purportedly told Tojo, "You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass."
