History:
I purchased SA 1911 LW Champion Operator from GT Distributors - Austin in mid-May of this year (2011). I can count on one hand how often this SA 1911 actually came out of the vault - definitely a "safe" gun for me.

Reason for Sell:
I carry & enjoy the mouse guns - including Kahr PM9 & P380, and occassionally the Baby Glock 26. This was to be my only 1911 I own, but I cannot justify having her only as a very nice looking show gun. I likely will never carry this one and at this time, it's not practical for me to keep this 45 Auto - when all my other guns (including Carbine) are 9MM or .380. Also, I haven't gotten use to hammer, safety, take-down, etc. of this - definitely not the optimal choice for me. I basically fell to the pressure of owning a 1911 and while it's an awesome gun for many, other weapon types in 9MM are ideal for me.

This SA 1911 setup with holsters should really put the buyer in good spot, with everything needed to get started with comfortable concealed carry. Also, the Lightweight design of this SA 1911 will make a pretty good difference when compared to comparable, steel models.

The picture is really not doing justice here. This 1911 is in absolutely brand new condition - no blemishes, no holster wear (never carried), no nics, scratches, or even imperfections that I can see. This is just a great piece for anyone in market for a 1911 with the following standard specs & features (key/standout features in bold):

Specifications and features:
Springfield Armory 1911 lightweight Champion Operator semi-automatic handgun
.45 ACP
4" match-grade barrel
7 round capacity
Ambidextrous safety
Beavertail grip safety
Long aluminum match grade trigger
5 to 6 lbs. trigger pull
Cocobolo hardwood grips
Forged aluminum frame with integral accessory rail
Black Armory Kote finish
Dovetail front sight
Low-profile combat night sights
2-piece full length guide rod recoil system
7.5" overall length
5.5" tall
31 oz. empty

The Springfield Armory operator pistol was the first pistol offered by a major 1911 manufacturer having a light-mounting rail forged directly into the frame. While others have followed their lead, SA still offer the most comprehensive line of 1911 light-rail guns available. The Standard Picatinny mounting platform readily accepts the most popular whitelight and laser illumination devices used by military spec-ops and law enforcement tactical teams. These fully-capable extreme-duty firearms are truly the best of the best. Includes two 7 round magazines.
