Australia passes carbon tax

Post by philip964 »

In its continued progress to become a socialist mecca, Australia passed a carbon tax today.

Previously Australia pretty much outlawed guns.

BTW most people are not aware of the percentages by volume of the gases that are contained in the air. So here they are:

78.09% nitrogen
20.95% oxygen
0.93% argon
0.039% carbon dioxide

But wait that can't be right. CO is not even 1% of the gases in the atmosphere. Yeah its not even one half of one tenth of one percent.

Betcha most voters in Australia don't know what you just read.

Fools..
"No longer will the big polluters be able to pump carbon pollution into the atmosphere for free."
Who winds up paying? The CONSUMER.!!

Hmm... Can't run a coal power station without paying the tax... so.. Coal power cost goes up.
Either the plant will need to buy scrubbers, or other technology, or.. pay the tax.
Now that their cost for power production goes up, so will their rates.
Result.... Consumers pay more per Kw.
Duh.

And as for the "Big Polluters"..?? Nothing changes except their accounting.
I sure am glad these new laws are gonna "get those bad guys making all that power".
What a joke.

My wife swears I am mainly composed of methane. Hopefully they don't impose a tax on that or I may be in trouble. :biggrinjester:

Seriously, I am all for being green, but carbon taxing, eminent domain, etc are nothing but a way to grab more money or something of value from the citizens. :mad5
