Senators Webb, Boozman Introduce Bill to Provide Consistent Gun Rules for Federal Lands

September 21, 2011
========================

A Pecan tree takes years after planting to bear fruit. After griping about this for years and Charles and Alice Tripp and others doing things, it gets more attention than the spam I constantly E-mailed congress :thumbs2:

This is the Senate Bill to compliment the House Bill which Bob introduced Rep Bob Gibbs H.R. 1865, Recreational Lands Self-Defense Act http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/node/7800" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

:iagree: It is way past time for this legislation. Please note that sponsor Senator Webb is a D from VA. There are some good second amendment boosters among the Democratic majority in the Senate. At least 2 of the co-sponsors are in the D column also.

I can carry in NPS, NWRS, but not on COE property. I like to camp and fish on COE land and lakes--why should US taxpayers have to disarm on COE property when we own it.

Heck, I might even use the Post Office more if I could carry in the front door.

Yeah, Lake Georgetown, Stillhouse Hollow and other lakes have all the fish I want to catch. I paid TPWD to stock fish there ... and US ACE says I can't go there, or even use their parking lot if I insist on carrying protection from wild animals and dangerous critters, whether they have legs or not.

RPB - Do you know where we as CHL holders are at right now with this? I thought I read somewhere after October, funding for the law that prohibits CC on COE land ends. If I understood correctly it should now be legal? I'm just lost in all the legislation mumbo jumbo. :tiphat:

Agreed!

We've been offered several Camp Host positions on otherwise attractive COE reservations and have declined because of the looney USACE gun regulations. BUMMER!
