NASCAR fans welcome Michelle?

Post by bilgerat57 »

Just read a short article where Michelle Obama and Mrs Biden received a somewhat less than unanimous favorable greeting at the final NASCAR race of the season. Apparently they were co-grand marshalls for the race. It's unfortunate that the announcer didn't inform the first lady that this was ALL BECAUSE OF A FLAG! :patriot:

The announcer didn't announce Mrs. Obama first, so that's interesting. Also, in the YouTube video I saw, you had to listen very closely for the boos.

Here's my transcript of the one minute long video:
And now please welcome our Grand Marshals, Sgt Andrew Berry and family, First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama, and Dr. Jill Biden as they deliver the most famous words in motor sports.
Gentlemen, start your engines!
The bold/underlined part is where you can hear the boos.

So, are you a Merchant Mariner?

EDIT: Though I guess the order is appropriate, I'm assuming Sgt Andrew Berry actually served our country and has always been proud of America.

I work on towboats and chemical barges along the gulf coast. *sigh* It's a dirty job, etc....
I have to wonder how much different the response would have been without the Sgt and his family being in front....... As usual, she certainly likes to hide behind those she is 'ashamed' of........

Those two ladies at NASCAR just reeks of stumping for reelection. I can only imagine the comments between those two women in the powder-room.

Never forget.

The only reason she wasn't booed more loudly was, as another poster said in this thread, standing behind Sgt. Berry

I would dearly love to get Sgt Berry's take on this.......His uncensored, unpressured, honest opinion.

If she was booed and was annoyed at it--well it was quite a bit of hubris to go to that crowd and expect exhaltation. So get over it, you make a certain group of individuals mad enough they will boo you. I don't boo people on principal, but not everyone has the same standards that I do for behavior.
