Where can I buy a 30.06 sign?

Post by thatguy »

I would like to post a 30.06 sign on the inside of my classroom doors, any idea where to purchase one?

guess you don't want any renewal customers? :evil2:

I remember that http://www.txchia.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; was selling them at instructor school.

Also I would think any competent sign shop could make one for you if given the exact wording/size requirements (but do you REALLY want that info getting out there? :nono: ) :biggrinjester:

I actually made a "home made" sign to use for classroom explanation - just printed the entire text at 1-inch letter height on my home printer then cut out all the words and taped them to a 2-foot x 3-foot piece of poster board ... looks like a giant ransom note "rlol" but gets the point across on just how big the sign will be with 1-inch letters.

You could always just pry one off the wall of some 30.06 posted business. :biggrinjester:

I have one of the TXCHIA 30.06 signs and one of their 51% signs. Good training aids the 30.06 sign isn't compliant though the letters are only 5/8".

The plan was to use them as training aids, did not even think about barring CHLer's!

Remember, 30.06 requires that they receive notice AND carry without effective consent. If you tell them they can carry, they have consent. Otherwise, wouldn't every instructor who gives students a copy of CHL-16 be giving notice because the wording appears that "document"?
And you could always print a nice "Sample Only" across the front in red.

I tell my students the 30.06 sign I have is non-compliant because of the size of the letters. I tell them if in doubt about a sign they encounter to check the letters with a quarter. A quarter is 1" in diameter.

You might want to remind them that the letters should be slightly larger than the Quarter coin.

You could have them make one with an intentional error, if your primary intent is for students to understand how large the sign would be. I suggest removing the word "not" so if the sign shop manufactures more to sell...

0.045 inches or about 1/20 of an inch which is discernible by eye.
