Wow, dang.. I guess I'll be the minority on this one. I actually enjoyed that movie... but I heard a LOT of grumpy comments from folks on the way out. Most of them were directed towards the "J-Edgar was gay" hype, apparently they weren't happy to hear that. I also went and saw "Immortals," and it was AWESOME.

If you went to the movies expecting a docu-drama it was ok. I figured there would be more action, more automatic weapons...I was let down.

I haven't seen it yet, but am looking forward to seeing it. I figured it was along the lines of the docu-drama with less action and all that. And I already know about most of his personal habits, so that wont be a surprise for me. It's got to be better than Jack and Jill. The best thing about that movie was Al Pacino.

I expect it to be a liberal hit piece on Hoover. Was it?

I had the unfortunate mistake of seeing the movie at Studio Movie Grill (you eat dinner while watching the movie)... blech. There were audible groans from the audience during the "wrestling" scene. I had picked the movie thinking "docu-drama" about how the FBI got started and how J Edgar changed the way Law Enforcement worked in America but was instead treated to a gay love story. Lame. The Docu-drama was there but it definitely felt like a side-story to the main plot of J Edgar's "closet.".
