Going to order a real gunbelt from the comp-tac sale today and im measuring my current belt i use which is just a generic leather belt.
The problem I have is yes I currently carry IWB so i measured to that hole, the catch is thats also the same hole i use when not carying IWB
so which number would I go from?
Per the instructions if you carry IWB measure and subtract 2, if you dont then measure and use that number.
Hole measured 39, so i'd either go 36,38 or 40.
Is it better to go larger?
belt sizing question
Re: belt sizing question
if unsure, its better to go larger, as you can always add more holes, you can't add more length

I use the size 40 Comp-Tac belt-I own two (that puts me in the middle hole, out of the 5 holes...and after Turkey dinner, I can let it out 1 hole, and when starving, take it up one)
Do NOT go by your old belt size or pants size (unless you use what I said above and adjust for your size, or call them for clarification because I never saw a beltmaker who had easy to understand instructions

Funny using the word "normally" when I should say "used to" because I carry IWB "normally" now in 38 waist pants and 40 belt ... but if I didn't ... I'd buy 36 pants.
I got the Comptac belt with the velcro sewn in ...

Re: belt sizing question
excellent advice guys.
normally i wear size 34 pants, seems to work fine with IWB the belt is a "36" i use the same hole for iwb or without holster, that hole measures to 39 using their instructions.
sounds like ordering 40 is the best bet, leaves wiggle and growing room (hopefully i dont need that!) these belts are too pricey to mess up on size

I looked again, there's 6 holes (I thought there were 5) and on the 40 belt i'm in the . . . . .> and can let it out 2 or take it up 4 ( I use the two middle holes before/after eating)rentz wrote:excellent advice guys.

You could probably go with either a a 38 or 40 if your "normal" size is 34 ... mine was once, before Bluebell ice cream ... I can sorta squeeze into a 34 cargo shorts but I won't go to supper wearing them.
The 6 holes are spread over a length between 4.5 and 4.75" long, so there's a little room for adjusting for weight gain/loss/carrying 2 guns IWB if you want to...etc

Re: belt sizing question
thanks, went ahead and ordered the 38. based on what you said i think thats the sweet spot for me....plus i was measuring from the tip of the buckle i think it meant to measure from where buckle meets leather whch puts it at 37 for the hole i normally use and their site says to subtract 2RPB wrote:I looked again, there's 6 holes (I thought there were 5) and on the 40 belt i'm in the . . . . .> and can let it out 2 or take it up 4 ( I use the two middle holes before/after eating)rentz wrote:excellent advice guys.
