Or even worse, they become physical therapists and take care of us when we fall!

Our School Superintendent's, and my friend's, first degree is in P.E. He added a Master's to that and then a Doctorate of Education to that. He makes a whole lot more than me plus he has a magna cum laude pension waiting on him in about a dozen years when he turns 57.

If I'd only knew then.... :cryin

Yeah, sure. It might not involve as many esoteric equations as particle physics or require the same level of abstract thought as pure math, but yeah, I'd classify it as a subset of biology (with requirements in statistics). There's some real science there.

Its much more envolved then you seem to think there is a lot of science not as much exercise but my worry is it only took a 3.0? 100 people a team and that's what they can come up with?

That's the point. There aren't any mathematicians or economists or any other titles with a GPA that high to be recognized? And the title is just too funny to not make fun of. I hope he finds a cure for cancer but a 3.0 in exercise science is just to easy to have a laugh at.

I can see value in P.E. degrees if used in the field they studied later in a career, but it reminds me of when I overheard a girl (a real airhead) who got a scholarship to U of H Law school who essentially had a 4.0 in Volleyball and she was going to take one of the limited seats up in the school because it was "free", then she planned to become an Aerobics Instructor after graduating Law School, and others more interested and much, much more qualified for the Legal Profession subsequently saw a "No vacancy" sign at U of H, and had to go to other schools.... So I guess there's an Aerobics instructor out there who posts disclaimers about potential injuries before teaching each class now.

This major leads to a career as an athletic trainer. My oldest son has a master's degree in exercise kinesiology with a bachelor's in Athletic training and works for Conroe ISD.

He is very good at what he does, and if one of your children was injured at school in any athletic event you would want my son taking care of your child. He has worked with multiple orthopedic associations including the Roger Clemens Foundation in Houston.

Not all degree programs that sound like a gimme are easy majors.
