Ammunition
For the CHL Instructor classes... I see they specify brands but are hollow points allowed? I know your wondering why would I.... but the .38 special Federal Eagle I get cheaper is hollow point...don't ask my why! Too, lower grain so less recoil letting me shoot better with the revolver.

Re: Ammunition
They were allowing hollow point in my class this last August as long as it was a brand that was on the list.wgoforth wrote:For the CHL Instructor classes... Re: Ammunition
I typically use WWB when I go to the range and in both of my classes. I can't imagine why someone would restrict hollow points for the class. It's usually FMJ that some places don't like.

No hollow point restrictions in my instructor course last year or the wife's back in April.

This is in regards to what the DPS allows for instructor certification. Thanks!Divided Attention wrote:Our local indoor range only allows jacketed ammo...

Re: Ammunition
As long as the ammo is made by one of the ammo makers specified AND is still in it's original packaging it should be OK. You'll be shooting on an outdoor range with a large earthen berm for a backstop. When I went through my instructor's class (May 2010) no mention was made about bullet type just ammo brands. .
