Google blows off WWII anniversary...again
7 December, a day that will live in infamy, unless Google is reflective of the rest of our society.
The Google homepage, which I like because it is plain, simple, is often changed to lend recognition to events or individuals for whatever reason.
For example, last week they had a Mark Twain motif, and I have seen the same type of tributes to folks ranging from Jim Henson (of muppet fame) and Freddie Mercury (musician).
And yet....
The 6th of June came and went this year, and Google did nothing to commemorate the D-Day invasion.
Here it is the 7th of December, and once again Google has done nothing to commemorate the event that launched the U.S. into WWII.
Sad.
Truly sad.

Yes but very reflective. Only 3% was needed the 1st time. I fear there no more than 3% left now.

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

Didn't they also ignore the 10th anniversary of 9/11?

Perhaps the gaggle at Google never learned American or world history.

It's a private enterprise...
The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the atmosphere. -Thomas Jefferson
