How long ago was your class? Churches are no different than a gas station or clothes store as far as CHL is concerned. They need to strike the language out as it just confuses people.Craig8d8 wrote:I see your point but the two are separate entities. I write two different checks each month. One to xxx school and one to xxx daycare. ??
Also it seems that I remember in my chl class that it IS illegal to carry in a church(but our instructor said he carries at church). Is it also illegal to carry on church grounds?

One, she is wrong(minus being posted) but set that aside for now. My followup question would be "if it is already illegal then why waste money on a sign?"snatchel wrote:I pick up my friends kiddos a couple of times a week, and am very good friends with the Daycare owner. Her and I play softball together.. Anyway. I asked her why her facility was 30.06 posted one day and she informed me that she had to put the sign up because it was "illegal to carry in day care." .
Re: Daycare?
Ask the daycare employees if they get paid by the school, if their "teachers" also teach any classes at the school, and whether or not the entity that pays them is in any way related to or owned by the school. The last one would be "more gray" and still not certain, but if any YES answers, carry would be not-advisable. IMO.
