AMAZING....
If the 2nd admendment only applies to muskets and muzzle-loaders, then the 1st admentment must apply only to the spoken or printed word. Printing must be done on hand presses, news stories must be written in longhand, no keyboards or electric processes may be used.

That should make an impact. Those drug cartels are brutal, but they are cowards. A nice show of force will send them packing for safer waters...literally.

I'd like to know the rules of engagement specific to use of that boat's LMG's. International sensitivities being what they are, you know they'll be pretty strict on firing toward Mexico or Mexican waters
And I do hope they have a good, secure place to moor it.

The sooner I get behind, the more time I have to catch up.

Looks to be four stations, two fore and two aft of the bridge, each with a double-mount pair of M240s for a total of eight machine guns.surprise_i'm_armed wrote:The vessel appears to have at least 2 firing positions, each with 2 machine guns.
I may be wrong about the positioning and degree of horizontal arc of those forward guns, but I still say it looks like they need a bow chaser. Considering that those big Mercuries will still be sticking up a bit when in the water, I suspect the aft guns can do okay astern.
Wonder what the DPS policy is on, er, civilian tours?

Speaking of vessel tactics, the US Coast Guard, when stopping "go fasts" (high-powered, drug-carrying cigarette boats/similar),
employs a Barrett-style sniper rifle.
This rifle is supported by a sling attached to the top of the open doorway of the chopper. The shooter can put .50 rounds
into the go fast's motors, which puts an end to the chase.

...I sure hope they use it aggressively...mighty expensive bluff if they don't...
Re: Hello, you drug cartel shooters on Lake Amistad!
BOW guns are nice & all..... But really not necessary. The reason being is that you never attack from straight behind. You either attack from the left or right.
None of our SWCC had bow guns, we would mount them left or right for the same reasons. Also, direct bow mounts take up the much needed room.
Third big reason is that the main function for mounted machine guns is for show-of-force and covering when boarding another vessel, where you pull up side by side.

...no wonder the Navy has to have the Marines....fore guns are nice, but without stern guns one of them small speedboats can maneuver 'round behind and put an RPG or such up ya...I want 360 degree capability...no "blind" spots...

Re: Hello, you drug cartel shooters on Lake Amistad!
The 240s mounted in the back are singles, for a total of six.

Time was when this country didn't need to have this kind of equipment because they knew we would come after them. They can park in my front yard if they want. GOD bless Texas.
