Today, December 16 is notable for two events that affected the world. The first one December 16, 1918 my beautiful and loving mother was born in Harrisburg, Texas. Mom would have been 93 today. She went home almost three years ago. Mom I love you.
The other event was December 16, 1944 when in a last ditch effort Hitler threw all he had left of the once mighty Wehrmacht against American troops in the Ardenes Forest in Belgium. This was the opening act of the Battle of the Bulge the largest land battle ever fought by American forces.
Take a moment out of your busy day to thank those GIs who fought, suffered and died to stem what could have been a catastrophe of unimaginable proportions. While you are at it tell my mom happy birthday too.

I am proud of my father being from the greatest generation that fought in WW2. He was a proud member of the 103rd division and wounded in battle for a second time. He is my hero. RIP Pop.
...PRICELESS to know that every day the sun comes up, my Mother's praying for me...always has...always will...85 next month...I can never pay her back, but I can learn to do the same...for my 5...
...the Great Ones...they know what sacrifice means...I look across those fields of white crosses...and hit my knees...
Thank you to all Greatest Generation Freedom fighters in Europe.
Thank you MoJo for honoring your Mom.
