WOW.
I've heard of the Deep Field before and seen the picture, but this video was even more astonishing.
Also, if anyone has never heard of the Pale Blue Dot, I implore you to look it up.

Amazing stuff until you consider Who created it. I ask these questions to those who question my faith in a Creator. If the universe is expanding as the scientist state , to where is it expanding and wouldn't that would mean nothing lies beyond it and nothing existed before it. I can't comprehend nothing, but it can be explained to me simply - creation ex nihilo. By the Hand of God.

Re: Hubble Pointed at "Nothing"
Frustrating knowing there is so much out there to investigate and not being able to reach it, isn't it.
One of the reasons I'm bummed out about the lack of support for NASA.
Thousands of years ago, some dude stood on a beach and looked out to the sea wondering what laid beyond the horizon, but had no way of knowing. Then, one day, some dedicated muldoon came up with the first boat, and through trial and error, we eventually developed the ability to navigate the seas.
Granted, it will take hundreds, if not thousands, of years to develop the tools we need to travel through space, but we'll never get there if we stop trying.

This is where God and science will come together. At the edges of the Universe.puma guy wrote:Amazing stuff until you consider Who created it. Over 100,000,000,000 galaxies. It's impossible that we're the only self-aware beings gazing out from our rock.

Re: Hubble Pointed at "Nothing"
A lot of the "nothing before nothing after" is a man-made construct. For there to be "nothing" then there must be an observation of the "nothing-ness" along with there to be "something" then someone/something has to observe the "something-ness". Just because we can't observe past the edge doesn't mean that there is nothing there, it could just mean that it's unobservable from our reference frame.puma guy wrote:Amazing stuff until you consider Who created it. It's also been theorized that the expansion of the universe at the "edge" has reached or exceeded the speed of light, so the light will never reach us. But, to the object moving the speed of light from our frame of reference, then our little blue dot would be just as unobservable because from its frame of reference, we are the ones that exist on the edge and are moving at the speed of light away from it.
Is a hole in a plank of wood an object in and of itself, or is it a hole only when bounded by the edges of the wood?

I don't have the ability to express in words how that makes me feel or think.

Re: Hubble Pointed at "Nothing"
Not sure where your quote "nothing before nothing after" is derived. ex nihilo nihil fit "out of nothing comes nothing" perhaps? which is antithetical to ex nihilo. I believe the video described the previously observed objects as moving at tye speed of light ....... toward or into what? I can't comprehend the nothingness but I am in awe of the somethingness and isn't it great we can all have our own belief of what started it? I guess there is a man-made construct of ex nihilo -- the Federal Reserve.7075-T7 wrote:A lot of the "nothing before nothing after" is a man-made construct. Re: Hubble Pointed at "Nothing"
Yes, your way is probably more concice. I'm not trying to start a "where did the universe come from" debatepuma guy wrote:Not sure where your quote "nothing before nothing after" is derived. ex nihilo nihil fit "out of nothing comes nothing" perhaps? which is antithetical to ex nihilo. What I was trying to say is that the distant objects could very well be moving into something, but it will always be unobservable to us, and therefore, un-knowable by us.
That is, until you run into the edge of the marble that bounds our galaxy
