Haven't even started reading the article yet and the photo and caption just made me go

Um, yeah, that's a Sig 556 PISTOL (notice no buttstock and the short barrel) - and the caption if you move mouse over the photo on the linked article calls this an "assault weapon"

Interesting...but kind of messy.
"Judge Rosemary Collyer, appointed to the bench by Republican President George W. Bush, found that the ATF's requirement was sufficiently narrowly tailored and that it was rational by focusing on the states that border Mexico.
"Congress has effected a delicate balance between ATF's regulation of firearms and the right to privacy held by lawful firearms owners," Collyer wrote in a 21-page ruling. The ATF's reporting requirement "did not disturb that balance.""

It would only be rational if they weren't the ones selling multiple rifles to the cartels in the first place. This is rediculous.

^ Hurray for Zoidberg! (if I'm incorrect, let me know... LOL
)
This might be an issue when I get back from Afghanistan... I found a new FFL near where I live, who said he would hang onto whatever I order until I get back.
This could get ugly. The ATF will be on full alert when they find out how many guns I pick up

I just don't get it. I wish I had the money to buy multipule guns at once. If I did I suppose I'd just buy one ever week!

It's as constitutional as a rule requiring bookstores to report multiple koran sales.

Or buy from multiple shops.magillapd wrote:I just don't get it. I wish I had the money to buy multipule guns at once. If I did I suppose I'd just buy one ever week!
This will not deter the ATF (or anyone else) from using straw purchases to arm the Mexican drug cartels.
Re: U.S. judge backs ATF multiple rifle sales reporting
I thought congress passed e law that the ATF could not use any funds for that.

The house did, but not sure the senate ever picked it up.MeMelYup wrote:I thought congress passed e law that the ATF could not use any funds for that.
