Political Poll Stats Stuff on 2A

Not much has changed.
Don't read below this line:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As all articles about stats from polls:
Many words, summarizing much work, accomplishing little, and proving nothing, but of interest to some who base important decisions and invest billions upon the manufactured results, such that the process of manufacturing the result becomes worthwhile for the beneficiary of those decisions/investments, and so they are usually the ones conducting said poll and contributing to the independent poll results tabulating and analysis firm and subsequently hiring lobbyists to point out said results to this or that governmental entity. Unless said poll is initially conducted by a governmental entity itself in order to advance some agenda ... in which case it's usually just a waste of taxpayer money to sway votes to the detriment of those who paid for the research so a relative or friend can get a government contract job to independently analyze and organize and manipulate the data. Now wasn't hat a waste of time reading all this, you should have followed directions and not read below that line above and just clicked the link so you could see the article thingy. I only wrote al;l this because the summary conclusion to the article was that not much had changed and it sorta seemed like a shame to waste time posting a link with just "not much has changed" under it after all the expensive, time consuming work of data collection and all was done.

The article wrote:Seven-in-ten Americans hold no reservations about people who are eligible to own firearms having access to handguns (73%) and rifles or shotguns (72%). However, only three-in-ten respondents (30%) feel the same way about semi-automatic weapons, with a majority (61%) suggesting that only the police and other authorized persons should have access to them.
What?

Edit to add: How many handguns, rifles, and admittedly fewer shotguns fall into the "semi-auto" category? I'm hoping they meant "fully-auto".

Probably, they don't know the difference. That worries me, since the anti-gun crowd could easily use that to push through a ban on semi-autos when the public thinks that it is full-auto being banned. And, of course, the media do nothing to eliminate the misunderstanding, either through ideological bias or simple ignorance.

As a couple of the other members of this forum and I were discussing recently, far too many Americans' firearms "knowledge" comes from the media and Hollywood...and the majority of the members of this forum understand just how "good" that education is... :banghead:
