SVU player M. Hagaty's long intro to last nights SVU program featured a multi-color image of BHO in the backgound.

A lot of thought goes into set design. I'd kinda doubt that it was placed there accidently. Someone associated with the program seems to like the guy.

Alternatively, a PR firm paid for the placement on behalf of some one or some organization that wanted the picture "flashed" on TV.

Product placement is a big business. Why are so many different guns, soft drinks, autos, i.e., consumer products, visibly seen on screen -- large and small?

On topic but taken further, a Frontline show about 10 years ago described the marketing and psychology of how corporations and individuals make people want - really want things. I bought a copy of the show and have shown a few teenagers in order to help them think for themselves and be appropriately cautious. I don't know. I have watched many shows that are supposedly in government offices/military offices and the picture of the current president is always posted--regardless of what the shows political leaning is

That's a bit of custom and reality. Once in a while, TV shows actually manage to slip a bit of that in.

Law and Order (in all of its iterations) is pretty noticeably short on facts and long on Brady Campaign rhetoric when it comes to guns.

From always finding out some suspect has a ".38 pistol registered to them", to various snarky comments about people with guns.

So that people working on L&O sets like the dems and Obama should be expected. It is, after all Hollyweird.

Sure enough. The military/bureaucratic offices often do have photos of the Chain Of Command displayed. BHO isn't in the NYPD Chain Of Command. I do suspect NYPD Command channels are as political as any other.

His multi-color portrait poster image was prominent to Ms.Hagatry' s right. Again, I imagine it was there becuase someone wanted it there. Whether the portrait was there for monetary profit or indirect political spin, I wouldn't know. Kinda unlikely that it was accccidental don'tcha think?

I was just wondering if anyone else noticed the less than obvious message.

And Mary, I get what you're saying. If it is his presidential portrait, along with other "Chain of Command" portraits, then its one thing. If its a campaign logo, its indicative of something else entirely, wouldn't you agree?

Yeah, maybe, kinda, sorta. I didn't record it, just noticed it. Thw color scheme was the same. Looked sorta like like the truth and change images. I don't remember if the guy was looking straight ahead, to the right, or his left as in the image you posted.

Isn't this show set in NYC? All of this would be accurate for the NYPD, wouldn't it?

Don't know dub, supposedly set there but stage sets and computer graphics could make the background images to appear to be anywhere.

Ms. Hagatry was pitching the the upcoming program with mention of some sort of NYC social program. To her right was the image of BHO.
