A friend has been badly hurt

A friend of mine from church named Randy was badly hurt this evening around 5 p.m. while buzzing around his neighborhood on his 4-wheeler. Apparently, he got pitched off and sustained a head injury which rendered him unconscious. A neighbor witnessed it, so help arrived quickly, but he is still unconscious in the ICU at Harris Methodist. His family still hasn't been allowed in to see him yet. I don't have much more in the way of details than that, but it sounds like he has been severely injured that that this is life-threatening.

Please pray for peace for his wife and kids, for wisdom for his doctors and nurses, for the Lord's miraculous intervention and healing, and for a full recovery.

His wife supervises my wife in our church's early childhood ministry. His daughter works with 1st through 4th graders, and her husband, Randy's son in law, works as part of the sound crew for the worship team I'm part of. They are all strong believers, Randy included.

Prayers from here Chris. Hopefully his injuries are found to be not as severe as first believed.

I just got the following update:

They wound up having to do surgery this morning and the surgeons were pleased with the way it went.  It went as well as could be expected.  From here, we just need to pray that the swelling continues to go down.

Last night he was experiencing increasing swelling of the brain and they were hoping that it would stop before it got bad enough to require surgical intervention. I don't know if "surgery" means they installed a shunt to take off edema, or did they actually have to remove a subdural hematoma.
