CHL Address Situation

Post by BiggerInTX »

Plain and simple....

Lived with parents for many years
Moved to an apt a month ago (just married) (temporarily... a few months planned)
DL has parents address (as most of mailings... Is this considered permanent address?)
Want to get CHL
DPS site wants "current demographic address"
If that means apt address... Addresses will not match

Will this be a serious issue? Should I bother changing my DL address? IIf I don't change it before hand... would I still be square with the law? I don't want to have to change it though since I won't be here long, then change it to another and so forth...
Just thought I'd ask here for a quick answer by more experienced people before I take it up with the DPS. Thanks in advance!

...by law, any ID issued by Tx should have where they can knock on your door as the address...I'd change address on the D. Lic. then do the CHL app...if they catch you fudging, it will cost you your application...not worth it...it only costs $25 to change your CHL address when you move...don't know the D. Lic fee for changing address...all info on the CHL application needs to be completely accurate(honest) so they don't smell a rat and dump you out...

From personal experience, at this point, no kids, a divorce is a lot cheaper than a CHL...
