Should it bother me to wonder why they have to put subtitles on Swamp People? :headscratch

Because the people who run the networks are either from flat-accent California or from "The City", you know, Noo Yawk... :mrgreen:

I lived in New Orleans for 30 years and still had to get my wife to interpret half the time.

You don't go "to your mother's house", you "go by your Mama's". You don't "go to the grocery store", you "go make groceries". If you're outside and you're thirsty, you get a drink out of the "hose pipe". After working outside you "warsh up in da zinc". If something is broken it's "no more good".

i always lol'd at the captions on Swamp People. i watch it pretty regularly and have never had problems understanding them.

like someone else said, you don't captions to understand, "SHOOOOOT 'EM" :D

It always amuses us to see the subtitles, but I suppose there is a portion of the viewing population that cannot understand them.
