SOLD: Custom Colt Commander in .45ACP

Post by doc540 »

SOLD PENDING FUNDS

1974 Colt Combat (all steel) Commander

Customized and refinished in Cerakote by Ed Karns

Ed Brown stainless trigger, hammer, slide lock, thumb and grip safeties, mag release, and barrel bushing

New Trijicon night/white dot sights installed by Novak's shop

The gun only has about 200 rounds through it since the build. The trigger is excellent and it is VERY accurate. It cycles HP ammo flawlessly and makes a great carry piece

Also included are three, Tripp Research, stainless, extended capacity, 7 round mag's.

I will also include all the original 1974 Colt parts that were removed, including the wood grips with gold Colt medallions.

Payment by USPS Money Order or Bank Cashier's Check

$1500 includes shipping, $1475 FTF in Beaumont

Beautiful Colt! I'm not a "Pinto" fan but I am sure there are peeps here who are.

Can't read the rollmarks......
Might be a good idea to post series (70 or 80) since a lot of peeps will not know what 1974 series was.....

Thanks

I don't know enough about Colts to say for sure it's a "70 Series" Commander. (I don't think Commanders were designated as "70 Series", but I could be wrong.)

But I can say for sure it's not an "80 Series". :cheers2:

Hope that helps.

I think the 70B in the serial number confirms series 70. Thanks!

I agree with TAM! You dangle these Colt carrots in front of me and I just spent all my "funds" on my shotgun! :biggrinjester: Hope she goes to someone that would love her 1/2 as much as I...

If it were only left hand drive...

That's my excuse for not buying it and I'm sticking with it. Beautiful piece of art there.

Wow that is exactly the 1911 I want ( save the silver parts)

Too bad I could barely afford HALF that price. Not saying it ain't worth it (beautiful gun probably worth every penny ) just not in the budget for me.

You take layaway? :totap: :biggrinjester:

Not only that, but he's been posting pictures of this gun each time he does something to upgrade it, and tantalizing us with its progress..........

.........and now he wants to just get rid of it? That ain't right.............I mean that I don't have the money for it. That ain't right at all. :grumble

No such thing as a Series 70 Combat Commander. The Series 70 model referred only to Government model 1911s. This is simply a 1970s era Combat Commander, which is to say that it does not have the Series 80 style firing pin safety.

That's what I thought. I think I read that over on the Colt forum.
