Blogger defeats TSA Nudie-Scanner

Post by sjfcontrol »

This blogger has successfully walked thru several airport TSA Nudie-scanners with a metal object in his pocket that would have set off any of the old metal detectors.
The secret is putting the object on the person's side, where it will blend in with the black background of the scan.

Range Rule: "The front gate lock is not an acceptable target."
Never Forget. Image

I saw this on the news and a couple of experts are saying that it is totally false. The old technology may have allowed that, but the new scanners that are deployed everywhere do a 360° sweep of the body and there is no way you could hide anything.

Would TSA and the people that support it admit the problem even if it is valid?

If I remember correctly in the news article they actually showed the images from the scanners that are in place now and how things on the sides show up.

Unfortunately I can't find it out on the Internet. Thought it was on ABC, but no luck. :headscratch
