Irving Gun Show 3/24-3/25

Post by Medic218 »

Did a quick search and didn't see anything else running, if there is and I missed it I apologize.

Did anyone go?
A co-worker told me he wasn't impressed with it and to not waste my time but I want y'all's input....

If you went did you by chance notice if they had any Walter PPQs anywhere?

Thanks in advance guys!!

Was there first thing this morning. Not as big as the Mesquite show. One of the bigger vendors said that the big show was in San Antonio and that they sent a crew there with their bigger selection of merchandise. My regular dealer said he expected that as it was a smaller show, more deals might be had but the selection is much smaller. That being said I didn't notice if the particular Walther you are looking for was there, but a couple of booths had some Walthers. All in all I 'm not sure it is worth the $9 entry fee unless you believe that a vendor you want to see will be there. YMMV

I don't know about this show, but the last show Bachman's told me they were going to Houston rather than Irving.

I sure wished Irving's show would take off and do well.

I find the idea to ask customer to pay $9-$10 to attend a sales based retail show is ridiculous. The vendor already paid to rent a space in the show. It is one of the reason I do not go anymore to gun shows. With the internet (Gunbroker) and honest and good FLL dealer asking a CHLer to pay just $10/transfer why you need to go? You need to check a gun, stop by Cabelas/BassPro/Cheaperthandirt or Academy/Dicks. They would love to let you molest their guns. :biggrinjester: :biggrinjester:

It is as if we are asking Google users to pay $1 each time they use that super fast search tool.

:iagree: And I have bought many guns online.

But, the last 2 Springfield's that I bought online had problems that I would have rejected if I had actually handled the particular guns. I ended up fixing one myself and sending the other back to Springfield.

It's almost like there are guns (name brands) that have problems and SOME Gun Shops list them online rather than sending them back to the Manufacturers for replacement/repair. Hoping that if you buy, you are very unlikely to send them back to the seller. YMMV.

At least you wouldn't have to disarm to do that! :biggrinjester:

Cozy little show (450 tables or so) in Lewsiville next weekend by, in my not-so-humble opinion, a much better promoter.
