Did anyone else see the segment where they showed how BG's can get through automatic garage doors in six seconds?
Good stuff to know so as to secure your property appropriately. A simple zip tie makes all the difference.

No automatic door opener here (I work on cars too much, so I don't keep any car parked in my garage...its full of tools/junk) I have a padlock locked through one of the rails on my door. The wheels can't get past the lock. You'd have to ram the door open or tear it into pieces to get through my garage door.

So glad they showed 1,000,000 people how to break into a garage. Great public service.

Ah, the old "hangar popping the garage lock" trick.
Only effective on really old garage door openers. They haven't made them that way since car locks had nice rounded tops, which can also be popped using a hangar.

Did you watch the video? Many new electric garage door openers have that latch so you can open the door manually during a power failure without tools. We safety-wired it at the house. That meant we needed a wire cutter to open the garage if the power went out but there were several to choose from in that garage.OldCannon wrote:Ah, the old "hangar popping the garage lock" trick.

Seems like it would be hard for a garage without windows..

They make Linux garage doors? I can see that could be more secure than Windows ...texasmusic wrote:Seems like it would be hard for a garage without windows..
