v-rog, you might want to buy a 1 lb can of BL-C(2) for that AR of yours too. We've been loading, as you know, with Varget until now but I wasn't getting enough velocity out of it in my AR10, even with a compression load. Marty at Cabela's suggested BL-C(2), which they had on hand, and I loaded some .308 up along with some magnum rifle primers. Not even close to a compression load, and the rounds were noticably hotter. Certainly part of that was from the magnum rifle primers, but not all of it. Apparently, this is the #2 ball powder (B....(2)) used at the Lake City arsenal (L-C) to load both M193 55 grain ball and M855 62 gain green tip penetrators, as well as the M118LR long range .308 sniping load.

Thanks, Chris. I need to make another run to Cabelas so I'll see if it is in stock. As of now I'm using H335 with Hornady 55 gr SPs (LC brass). OAL 2.200 with 21.6gr, 22gr, 22.4gr, and 22.8gr. Probably head to Elm Fork on Friday to Chrono the rounds.
