I was standing in the break-room at work today watching MSN when it occurred to me that the world really does work in historical cycles.
Those of us that grew-up in the midst of the Cold War are all quite familiar with the Soviet Newspaper Pravda "Truth", which we as Americans in general loved to mock for its one-way, slanted reporting of everything that was wonderful about Communism and evil about Capitalism.
And now we have our own "News" sources doing exactly the same thing using different terminology.
Go figure.

If you really want a laugh at the Russian way of looking at the news, check out Russia Today.
Its an English language Russian news broadcast. And it is hilarious.
Edit:
But yes, its sad that on the scale of left wing news, I think MSNBC has passed up Pravda.

I'm pretty sure my disgust with the "mainstream media" right now is at an all-time high. The bulk of them are so rigidly aligned a certain way in their reporting that it makes it all but pure propaganda. I'm fairly certain that the Founding Fathers didn't have that in mind when they put "freedom of the press" in the Bill of Rights.
