Carrying at Louisiana Hotel/Casino

Post by danpaw »

We're going to be staying 2 nights at the Horseshoe Hotel Casino next week. Does anyone have any pointers about how to stay out of trouble. I know Louisiana doesn't have 30.06 or 51% so what do they have? What about restaurants with bars?

I found an iphone app called CCW. It has a nice summary of each state's rules that you can check on the fly. As for LA, restaurants with alcohol are off limits. If you have an iphone, get this app. Think it was free or 99 cents.

Here's your problem:
•Any portion of the permitted area of an establishment that has been granted a Class A-General retail permit, as defined in Part II of Chapter 1 or Part II of Chapter 2 of Title 26 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises.
I believe all of the casino's have a Class A permit. So, I would say if you can get in and out of the hotel without going through the bar or casino area, then you should be OK. Don't carry in the bar or gaming area.

There are several licenses at 711 Horseshoe Blvd in Bossier City. Here is the one I find that is active that appears to be for the Casino (attachment)

I usually do avoid Louisiana if I can. We might just have to eat at McDonalds .

The Boardwalk (restaurant and outdoor mall area on the river) next to the Horseshoe is posted with the exception of Bass Pro, you may enter Bass Pro from the parking lot side only, you cannot enter/exit on the Boardwalk side.
