Utah CFP

Going to work this summer in Cincinnati for a few weeks. Apparently the second ammendment and my TX. CHL are not enough. I'll need one more permit.

Can someone please recommend an instructor near Austin. Is Crossfire in Fort Worth my best bet?

Contact Crossfire. They will be able to get you set for your Utah permit. :thumbs2:

Get an Arizona permit instead. You don't need to take any additional training because your Texas CHL training is sufficient. AZ and OH have reciprocity.

BTW, your Texas CHl does not have Ohio reciprocity because Texas refuses to enter into a reciprocity agreement with Ohio, not the other way around.

Interesting. Why is that?

If someone is a long time Ohio resident, the CHL criminal background check is performed by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation instead of an FBI check. If someone is an Ohio resident for less than 5 years, they also charge the actual cost of an FBI check and perform one (extra $24 on top of the regular $67 license).

Since Ohio does not perform an FBI check on all applicants, Texas will not enter into a reciprocity agreement.

I don't remember their names, but the husband & wife team that runs Astro Shooting Range on 183 north of Seward Junction and south of Briggs (generally considered Florence area, but actually west of town of Florence) used to offer Utah license class. Been a year or more since I've been up there though.
