Related, I saw 4 or 5 permanent "your speed is" signs/cameras in Marble Falls recently that didn't used to be there.
The first one seemed to need calibrating if it was aiming at me, both my speedo and GPS disagree with it, but agree with each other

There are quite a few of those around in Texas, usually rural areas that run speed traps. They move them around so that even drivers with radar detectors have to slow down cause they never know if it is actually a police car or the sign. Pretty clever tactic.

The stretch of Kirby between Shepherd and San Felipe has one in each direction. I keep expecting to see an HPD car running radar from a side street, using one of the signs as EM cover. So far, no joy.
