It's a shame Cali didn't have the death penalty when that worm was tried and convicted.

How much money has the defunct nanny state of Kalifornia wasted keeping this worthless piece of waste alive? Get a rope!

BTW, "Helter Skelter" is a very good read. IIRC, it was written by the prosecuting attorney, wasn't it?

No, it was written by Paul McCartney. :biggrinjester:

Actually, the book was named after the song and it was written by Vincent Bugliosi who was the prosecutor.

He probably will not live to see his next chance in 2027.

IIRC, "helter skelter" was written in blood on a surface in the Polanski/Tate residence. I was in northern Nevada building a power plant when this happened. It was pretty big news at the time.

Yeah, Manson was apparently obsessed with the White Album and in particular the song Helter Skelter. He said it was a about his prediction of a huge race war that would break out between blacks and whites. It wasn't. The term is actually British slang for a roller coaster and the song refers to the the way a roller coaster goes 'helter skelter' all over the place.

Actually Manson was sentenced to death along with three others involved and about a year later California Supreme Court eliminated the the DP. It was later reinstated, but Manson and others were automatically commuted to life on the initial ruling.

My understanding he ordered the killings, but was not there. Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys had promised to make him a rock star or something. Manson wanted him killed for brushing him off after awhile. The house was where Brian used to live, instead they killed the pregnant Sharon Tate, who was the new tenant.

Don't tattoo a swastika to your forehead if you ever want to be paroled.

Kinda nice seeing him doing so well. ;-) (sarcasm smilie)

There was not absolute proof he was present but it was initmated he visited at least one of the sites. The Tate/ Labianca murders were the most infamous, but he was responsible for attacks on and murders of several other individuals. He is a really bad guy who thinks he's Jesus Christ, twisting reference to Christ as the Son of Man to his own name of Manson ie. Man's Son.

Edit: I remembered that it wasn't Wilson but Terry Melchor that Manson had a grievance with so I looked it up. Manson did live in Brian Wilson's house at one time. haron Tate was living in a house where Doris Day's son Terry Melchor had lived at one time. Manson had some dealings with Melchor (Manson also met the owner of the house around that time) s after Wilson introduced him to them. Manson visited the house uninvited after Polanski/Tate moved in expecting to see Melchor. That's the connection to tate's house.

Actually it was Dennis Wilson who was trying to get Charlie a recording contract. Neither Brian or Dennis Wilson lived in the house where Sharon Tate and the others were killed. I believe it was record producer Terry Melcher [Doris Day's son] who had lived there.

Same difference he should have been executed.

Thanks guys for getting it all straight for me. Manson if I remember, had a posse of hot looking hippy girls with him. This I think was "Dennis" Wilson's interest. They would do anything Manson asked, including trying to assassinate President Ford.

Glad he wasn't smarter and got into politics.

Who would want to be known for paroling Charles Manson?
