Since I like no-cluch bikes, here is my choice VFR 1200F DCT : http://powersports.honda.com/2012/vfr1200f.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The VFR is a SWEET bike. I've not ridden the new one, but really like it's apparent balance of styling, ergonomics and agility.

I currently ride a 1200cc Sport-Touring bike but I've been looking at the new Triumph Tiger XC, an 800cc Dual Sport... Bikes are all about "purpose and personal preference". I've given up the "going too fast" days of my youth and now prefer a "smell the roses" pace with a more long distance level of comfort. Cramped, bent-over sport bikes are for younger people.

I'm thinking my next bike will probably look something like this...

After you take the MSF class, if you decide that you are interested in an XT, let me know. The XT is a great bike... very tame, reliable, excellent gas mileage (70++) and easy to ride. For a dirt/street bike, the seat height is very manageable. I've had mine up in the mountains in Colorado at 11,000 feet on trails and on paved roads running 70 MPH. Really a versatile bike, but not nearly as exciting as the little Ninja. :mrgreen:

Good luck and ride safely! :thumbs2:

Beiruty, this would be a GREAT starter bike, yet something that you could keep for a fun bike, after you get more experience and learn what you want. :tiphat:

:iagree: My next bike will be a Dual Sport. Have a cruiser, touring and naked bikes, but I really miss off-road riding.

Beruity, I'd recommend getting a bike you can safely handle, but with the most power you can safely handle. I also recommend getting some riding books to supplement your MSF course. I can't remember their exact names, but I've had and/or read several books that were pretty good. You might search amazon for sport riding techniques, motorcycle safety, etc.

All,

To have some peace at home, I would be riding off roads, either on dirt tracks or closed circuit racing tracks so I can perfect handling and riding and deal with emergencies. :thumbs2: :thumbs2:
