Pup adopted

Post by wheelgun1958 »

Wife woke me up at 4am Sunday morning. There was a horrendous crying and howling on the front porch. My wife was thinking a coyote. I grabbed my S&W 6906 and slowly opened front door. In the far corner of the porch I find this.

The storm was scaring the poor pup. I sat with him until early afternoon when I was able to drop him off at the shelter. No one in the neighborhood recognized him. No chip or collar either.

Awwww too cute. If no one came for him he would have become the next household pet.

I crated him after gaining his confidence and attempted to introduce him to my 2 dogs. They didn't appear too happy about it. We attempted to find the owner before deciding to take him to Petsmart for a chip check and then to the shelter. Petsmart vet said he is likely a purebreed. Beautiful baby blue eyes. The shelter believes there will be no problem adopting him out if the owner doesn't claim him. He is adoptable on Friday (4 day wait for claim on strays) at The Colony animal shelter.

I wished the pup had chosen my front door...had a husky as a kiddo, they are really neat dogs. Not sure if my Dane and the pup would get along...but that idea got nixed by the wifey...shoot! I'm quite confident that a warm cozy home awaits.
