Oh...election primaries.
For some reason, I thought he caught the politicians there unawares and took over the state, creating the free Libertarian State of "North Texas".

YIP!
A vote for anyone other than the party's ultimate nominee is a vote for the current POTUS. I'm sorry but that's the way the system works.

Re: RON PAUL TAKES MINNESOTA!!!
Romney ain't the nominee till after Tampa and I don't see how any God fearing Texas gun owner could vote for a gun banning northern liberal in the primary and have a clear conscious.Oldgringo wrote:YIP!

Vote for anyone other than Romney in the primary to send a message that Texas won't eagerly accept whatever leftover scraps the national party sends us.

Are you sure Paul won? Fox's 2012 GOP Primary/Caucus Calendar says that Iowa's caucus was held on Jan 3rd, Minnesota's on Feb 7th, and that both were won by Santorum.

Re: RON PAUL TAKES MINNESOTA!!!
I'm guessing the delegates convene to switch candidates due to Santorum dropping out.

Re: RON PAUL TAKES MINNESOTA!!!
That was a non-binding vote. Those delegates are chosen by the caucus process, not by the vote.Dave2 wrote: Are you sure Paul won? Fox's 2012 GOP Primary/Caucus Calendar says that Iowa's caucus was held on Jan 3rd, Minnesota's on Feb 7th, and that both were won by Santorum.
Re: RON PAUL TAKES MINNESOTA!!!
See... its the deception by the MSM that people this he does not have a chance cause they have NO idea how our primary/caucus system works and it irritates the hell out of me.
Caucus states are non biding the delegates are all that matter and its a completely separate process then the vote.
Which ... in case you did not know is how the current POTUS got the nomination - well besides it being bought and paid for by Goldman Sachs - interestingly enough is Romney's top contributor ... funny... you want me to vote for Romney if he gets the nomination cause we can boot out Obama... but you can't show me the proof that Romney will be any better... hmmm. I'd rather sleep well knowing who and what I voted for thank you.
Ron Paul has the following states lined up to take the most delegates
Nevada
Colorado - Santorum Supports are siding with Ron Paul
Iowa
Wyoming
He won Minnesota
This would mean he is on the ballot in Tampa.
If it goes to a brokered convention - Ron Paul wins Hands down
Why? Cause even the delegates that have to vote for Romney the first round, they can vote for whoever they want the second round.

Re: RON PAUL TAKES MINNESOTA!!!
In the primary season, this is not true.Oldgringo wrote:YIP!

During the general election, this is also not true in states where:
- one candidate will win by a significant number AND
- the state is an "all-or-nothing" electoral college state.
For those in a battleground state OR states that distribute electoral votes proportionally, this statement is true, but primarily only as a general statement to the masses as opposed to any instance of an individual voter. . .
If Romney has more than a 10-15 pt. lead in Texas on election day and I have a better candidate, I'll cast that vote with a clear conscience. If his lead is less than that, I'll hold my nose and mark the box by his name.

Especially if they have or had an office on Beacon Hill.
