Oh... I forgot my other favorite story told by my wife....about a long time patient of theirs who was in chronic poor health and complained to my wife once that (picture a strong hillbilly accent), "I was so sick yesterday I couldn't hardly get up off the couch to get a cigarette."
That story is not true!
None of us smokers are ever that far away from our smokes!!!
I left out some information.....the lady was reclining on the couch....and her cigarettes were on the coffee table right in front of her.

My best buddy was married to a dentist, let me just tell you this, it was a miracle he made it out alive! She was crazy as a loon! Mix in her illegally writing prescriptions to herself for pain meds (she got a "talking to" by the state dentistry board, that was it, let's just say that they tend to "take care of their own") along with being bipolar and off her legally prescribed meds...The stories I could tell, but won't, to protect him! Let's just say that it didn't work out so well, but he was able to move on. AFAIK, she is still a dentist, even with a multitude of complaints against her. You know the funniest part?!?!?! I was actually named in the divorce decree, by her (forbidding me from helping my buddy move his possessions out of the home, go figure, the last thing I would do would be to harm any of her stuff, I just wanted him out of there! It's ironic because we actually talked about this tonight!). I'm not making this up. Truth is stranger than fiction!!!

There are loons in every profession. Some of the "healthcare professionals" can make their problems worse if they have easy access or a license to prescribe controlled substances. I have been told [by reliable sources] that dentists have more problems with drug abuse than MDs and pharmacists.
