Hello everyone:
I finally received my CHL in the mail 5/4/12. I have been playing the waiting game for more than a month now, and this forum has helped me get through my ordeal. This is my first post so I figured I share my experience to help those out there who are still waiting. I have been contemplating about getting my CHL since getting out of the Marine Corps in 2007. Less then 3 months ago my brother-in-law was robbed by 3 armed men in the outskirts of Magnolia, luckily he was fine and they only took his wallet. After that I decided that it was time to stop procrastinating and signed up for a class.
3/25/12 attended CHL class
3/26/12 application submitted online
3/28/12 Fingerprints
3/29/12 paperwork received by TDPS (certified mail return receipt stamped 3/29/12)
4/13/12 status change online to paperwork received, Background check: under review
4/25/12 status change Background: complete, CHL: mailed
5/4/12 CHL in mailbox, post date 5/2/12

total time from application submitted to CHL in mailbox 40 days. I hope this helps all of you out there who are playing the waiting game, as I was.
