Up for bid is this pre owned Smith And Wesson Model 59 Semi Automatic 9mm. It's being sold AS-IS because the serial number has been shaved off, I'm not 100% sure it fires and it does not come with a clip.

Bid is only $21.00. Guy I know reported this to Gunbroker Customer Service, so this listing may "expire".

Here is the puzzling part: you'd think these "numbskull idjits" would know better:

The other thing is, they are a pawn shop and have sold quite a few other guns on Gunbroker. I smell something fishy in the post. Maybe someine IS fishing.

I am assuming this is the pawn ship http://www.levspawn.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. If you follow their link to eBay, they are no longer registered under Levs2001. There is a Levs2002 on eBay, but they have not bought or sold any items since August last year.

I have friends who have purchased from them on many occasions both in the store and online. Take my word for it, they truly are "numbskull idjits".

One good friend surfs their listings twice a week because they have been known to list no reserve auctions for "Glick", "Sag Sower", "Stoger" . . . You can find some real steals that way.

They've already been reported to local police and will have an interesting visit from the pawn shop squad this afternoon.

I find it very hard to believe that a pawnshop - which has been in business for as long as they claim - doesn't know that an obliterated serial-number on a firearm means Trouble

Can't trust places like that, I'd check any mattress or pillows they sell too ... make sure the tag is still attached ...
well, I just wouldn't shop there if they are creating a market by buying guns which have no serial numbers ...

I'd BET Ms. BRADY or Colin and friends are behind it if not a police agency.
I'd expect a youtube video if it's the Brady Bunch, like the "Colin goes to a gun show" videos

Not that I know of... Much like a car with the VIN filed off, though, it really increases the chances that it should be considered as evidence rather than being for sale.

Yes, hence the 10 year vacation reference in the title. IIRC, there are some oddball exceptions like manufacturing the gun for yourself, but most certaInly buying a modern commercial firearm without a serial number is illegal.
