Unless we keep the barbarian virtues, gaining the civilized ones will be of little avail. Oversentimentality, oversoftness, washiness, and mushiness are the great dangers of this age and of this people." Teddy Roosevelt"

Exactly why I tend to ignore the greater proportion of your posts.

What was the point to this post, aside from poking a bees nest? :confused5

...a good-natured protest that folks were tearing a relatively new poster a new one on another thread...it seems there are those here who live and let live...those that poke good-natured fun at each other and all can have a laugh...and then there are those, like on every forum...that seem to live to correct others and ridicule them...finding fault with their "style" or lack of it...picking and hounding...while contributing nothing of substance to the conversation...knowing nothing of each other's background, education, handicaps, etc....is it really our job/calling in life to do this??? We're here to communicate...if there's a point of understanding or fact in question...ask the question...but why nag like an ex-wife??? even the bees make honey...posting is a privilege...reading others' posts is an option...simple as that...

I don't consider myself a member of the grammar police. Maybe I am, but I don't have a badge.

Some people, myself included, comment on the writing "style" of a new member. I am a person who likes uppercase letters, punctuation marks and paragraphs. I have made private and public comments about posters who ignore these "rules". I try to explain that they may have a good idea, but people such as myself, won't read their posts if they don't follow certain accepted rules. Sometimes they take my advice, but mostly they don't. When they don't, I feel a bit sad because I may be missing some good posts.

As speedsix stated, ultimately, it is my choice whether or not I read the posts... simple as that... :tiphat:
