CHL License expires before Instructor's Cert.
I recieved my certificate saying I'm an instructor back when, I guess, we all got them. It expires 12-31-13 like everyone else's. Were we supposed to get an updated CHL license at some time. My actual license expires in Jan of '13. I thought our instructor's certification renewed our actual license. Did I understand incorrectly?

I've never heard that. I believe if you don't have a CHL when you take the instructor's course, the course can count for the CHL training, but I've never heard that it will renew an expiring license. You might call DPS to verify.

They have to be renewed separately.
The good news is, if you are an active instructor, you don't need to send in a CHL-100 to renew. Just send a copy of your instructor certificate.

Kudos to the DPS.
Apparently they keep up with the Instructor's Corner. Debra from the DPS called me to clarify the Cert./CHL expiration issue.
Still have to renew CHL as usual. Don't have to worry about sending copy of CHL-100 since we are already marked as "exempt" for being instructors.

I take it you're not exempt from paying the fee...

No such luck. Oh well.
