CHL holder engages robbers, accidentally shoots clerk

Sad situation. We've discussed this here at length what we would or wouldn't do, but it seems to me the guy was trapped and had no other option. I'm not too sure he was trying to save the clerk/save the day, the armed robbers locked the front door and he didn't engage until he realized there was no escaping.
